Legislative Delegates: Templates to help you write an act or a resolution are available. To use the template, you will need to download and open the Word document and immediately go to File -> Save As and save the file with your own unique name (i.e. AmySmithBill1.doc). The bill must be saved in a .doc format, which most word processor programs will allow if you go to File -> Save As and change the Type drop down box to ".doc". When you are ready to submit your bill, please visit our Online Submission form. |

After a successful summer at CONA, we are now ready to kick off the 2009-2010 school year! Here are some of our upcoming events: September 17 - Advisor Training - Corporate Office in Oklahoma City 6:30-8:30 PM Both new and experienced advisors are encouraged to attend in order to find out about how the Youth and Government program works and changes that we have made in the past year September 19 - State Officers and Club Representatives training in Oklahoma City 10-2:30 State Officers and local club leadership (3 from each school) will start learning to work together as a team September 26 (Southern) and October 3 (Northern) - Delegate Training Sessions Come find out more about Legislative, Judicial, News Media, and Youth Commission branches of Youth and Government. Training is available for brand new students and advanced training is available for returning delegates. |

The summer of 2005 my good friend told me I should join Youth and Government. He told me that Youth and Government is an organization that helps youth understand the government through enacting the functions of the judicial and legislative branches of the government, or through media reporting about the branches. The organization helps youth develop self confidence, acceptance, and tolerance for other people and different ideas. It’s also a good way to make new friends. I heard all this and I said “that sounds good, but I don’t have time for it. Besides, how do you know I will like it? It’s my freshman year in high school and I think I had better take things easy this year.” So for that year he didn’t talk to me about Youth and Government. However, as soon as fall 2006 came, my friend’s reactivated efforts made sure I was in the organization. As a high school sophomore, I became an attorney in the local Weatherford group. In 2007, during my junior year, I was elected Youth and Government Northern District Judge for the state of Oklahoma. Subsequently, I was asked to attend the annual Conference on National Affairs |
